BMW X5: Luxury 4WD Market Leader Moves Even Further Ahead (Australia)
The BMW X5 was introduced to the Australian market in November 2000, yet remains unchallenged as the leading full-size luxury Sports Activity Vehicle in Australia.
Embracing a wide range of needs from the capability, power and economy of the turbodiesel X5 3.0d to the blistering V8-engined 265 kW 4.8is, the BMW X5 is a superbly accomplished luxury Sports Activity Vehicle.
And that status will continue with the addition of new features for 2006 that confirm its competitive advantage over its many rivals in this busy segment of the Australian market.
Despite the increase in features, price changes have been restrained well below the actual value of the additional equipment.
The 2006 specification upgrade for six-cylinder 3.0i petrol and 3.0d diesel models comprises an on-board monitor with TV, Park Distance Control, CD stacker and Bluetooth phone preparation.
This equipment would normally add $7,470 to the price of a six-cylinder BMW X5, but the actual price uplift is only $1,000.
For the pinnacle V8-engined X5 4.4i will gain BMW Navigation as well as Bluetooth phone preparation, previously valued at $3,400 with no uplift in price.
The all-conquering X5 4.8is will add Business Bluetooth preparation, including handset, as well as Connected Drive to its vast array of standard equipment at no additional charge as well.
The specification upgrades for the BMW X5 enhance not just the pleasure of ownership of Australia’s top-selling luxury SAV, but also ensure the X5’s competitiveness within its sector remains unchallenged.
