Colt Blue leads Mitsubishi's supermini charge
A specification-packed addition to the Colt family arrives at Mitsubishi dealers in time for September’s registration plate change. The three-door Colt Blue, priced at £8,499, is aimed directly at style-conscious drivers and, with free insurance and three years’ free servicing included throughout September, it makes Mitsubishi ownership more accessible and more appealing to a younger audience.
Created following the success of the Red and Black models, Colt Blue comes with an array of interior and exterior kit along with guaranteed low running costs courtesy of a lively and charismatic 1.1-litre three-cylinder engine.
With a litre of petrol nudging towards £1, owners will enjoy infrequent fuel station stops thanks to a combined fuel economy figure of 49.6mpg while ultra-clean CO2 emissions of 135g/km place the Colt Blue in one of the lowest road tax bands. But, unlike some supermini rivals, being frugal doesn’t come at the sacrifice of performance. Quickly shift through the slick five-speed manual gearbox and 0-62mph is dialled up in just 12.9 seconds and, where legal, this cool Colt will reach a 103mph maximum.
