Crossover vehicles are a growing sector in the auto industry, comprising an estimated 15 percent of showroom floors, according to General Motors officials.
A crossover vehicle looks similar to a Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV) but is mounted on a car’s body frame.

Experts say the number of crossover models will expand to 50 by the end of 2006 and these popular vehicles will begin to outsell SUVs.

GM recently introduced two new crossover models at the New York International Auto Show: the Buick Enclave and the Saturn OUTLOOK – a seven-passenger vehicle.
