Honda’s leading lady rules the waves
An associate from Honda (UK) has become the world’s first woman to win a Formula 4-stroke powerboat round in the 150hp class – in only her third race. Rose Lores, who works in the Customer department at Honda’s base in Langley, near Slough, led from start to finish in the Tyneside Grand Prix, held in South Shields. Rose was one of hundreds of associates from Honda (UK) given the chance to compete for a season in a Honda Happiness-sponsored powerboat. After a series of time trials last December, Rose was one of the lucky four office workers to be selected. She’s partnered in the 150hp powerboat by fellow Honda associate, Jason Cropper.
The Honda Happiness powerboat helps spread the word of the scheme – the company’s fixed price repairs programme for Honda cars over three years old. Honda Happiness offers services like a basic vehicle check for just £65, or new front brake pads for only £85. The programme shows customers they can get repairs from an authorised Honda dealer, using Honda Genuine Parts, at competitive prices.
