The Peugeot 206 van has been awarded the prestigious Best Light Van Award 2006 by Professional Van & Light Truck Magazine.

The award was given by a panel of judges made up from actual users, buyers and operators of vans, not just members of the magazine. It recognises how good a vehicle really is when it is operated in its true role and environment.

"Are there suitable places for a driver’s "coffee cup and snack", is the payload area totally useable, down to even is there a place to store the van driver’s newspaper etc…"

The 206 van is ideal for users who require a stylish means of transporting light loads, as the 206 van has all the chic external design features of the 206 passenger car as well as a payload of 526 kg and a load capacity of 1130 dm3. It is highly specified to offer drivers exceptional levels of comfort and driveability, combined with the practicality of a van. The standard equipment on the vehicle includes:

- Power steering
- Remote central locking
- Electric windows
- Radio / CD player
- Height adjustable steering column
- Height adjustable seatbelts
- Height adjustable drivers seat
- Sports front seats
- Electronic immobiliser
- SMART driver airbags
- ABS with EBFD and EBA

Steve Harris Fleet Director of Peugeot UK, said: "This award recognises the high specification and standard equipment levels of the 206 van, which make it a perfect option for customers looking for a stylish and practical small van."

The Peugeot 206 van is powered by a 1.4 litre HDi diesel engine which produces 120 lb ft of torque at only 1750 rpm. Running costs are also kept to a minimum with service intervals of 2 years or 20,000 miles and a vehicle excise duty of £110.
