Porsche posts strong growth in North America
Dr. Ing. h.c. F. Porsche AG, Stuttgart, is still on course for success in North America. In February 2006, a total of 2,797 vehicles were delivered to customers in the US and Canada, an increase of 19 percent on the 2,360 units delivered in February 2005.
Deliveries of the Cayenne declined by nine percent, primarily as a result of Porsche's policy of not using discounts to boost its sales – as practiced by some of its competitors. Nonetheless, at 948, the sporty off-road vehicle was still the model series with the highest volume of units delivered. The top Cayenne Turbo S model launched in January got off to a good start in North America, with 56 sales recorded in February alone.
