For the first time in almost 10 years, an Italian car has topped the overall sales charts in western Europe.
Last month, (January 2006), Punto (including Grande Punto) was not only the leading seller in B-segment, (Punto 37,977; Clio 36,016; Fiesta 31,470); but also in the European car market outright.

In the same month, Fiat Auto recorded over 100,000 vehicle sales in Europe, which represents a 17.9% growth over January 2005. This excellent result was achieved in a market that grew by 2.6% compared with January last year. Fiat Auto’s European market share stands at 8.4%, which represents a 1.1% increase over the same month a year ago.

Grande Punto, meanwhile, has won another media award – Auto Lider (Number One) 2005, voted by the Polish readers of Motor and Auto Moto magazines.
