When your company car is capable of 200mph, a distance of 26.2 miles isn’t usually an issue. Yet Chris Burton, Sales and Marketing Director for Banbury based supercar manufacturer Ascari, is trading in his 500bhp KZ1 for a pair of self propelled running shoes to compete in this year’s London marathon.
Aiming to raise £2,500 for the Stroke Association, Chris has been working hard to ensure his own bodywork is as stylishly sleek as that of the Ascari’s; "I’ve been working hard on my fitness and I’m almost there, that’s not to say I’m still hoping for a tail wind on the day. This is my first marathon and I’d be ecstatic to cross the finishing line in under 4 hours."
What really matters however is the money raised for the Stroke Association. Seeing members of your family suffer from an illness such as a stroke can be a frustrating experience. You want to help but you don’t always know how. The Stroke Association has offered fantastic support and running the marathon allows me the chance to give a little bit back for all the help and care given to my family."
