Audi is offering a glimpse into the future of the after-sales business at the 20th Automechanika. Here in Frankfurt, the brand with the four rings is presenting technical innovations such as the Audi Service Cam, the 3D service software SerVision and the Audi Quick Ammeter, winner of the Innovation Award 2008. An additional highlight is the world premiere of the Audi Q5 Service Mobil, which enables comprehensive vehicle analysis on-site via GoBook.

The after-sales sector is a key success factor for Audi, as evidenced by the numerous technological service innovations being presented here and an appearance by Peter Schwarzenbauer, Member of the Board of Management for Marketing and Sales. Schwarzenbauer has declared customer orientation in service and trade his top priority. “In the coming years, we seek to successfully establish Audi’s position at the forefront of the premium market and become number one for customer satisfaction. In order to do so, we must live out the Audi Top Service promise each day in every service workshop worldwide. I consider it my personal responsibility to convert Audi Service into Audi Top Service.” Schwarzenbauer introduced the new Head of Service and Genuine Parts, Bernd Hoffmann, who will be implementing the Audi Top Service strategy internationally.

“To us, “Vorsprung durch Technik” means a particular way of thinking and acting. And in this context we focus on four strategic areas of action: appearance, conduct, performance and processes. Outstanding achievements in all of these areas and the passion of our employees are what define Audi Top Service,” emphasized Hoffmann.

Afterwards, he presented an Audi service highlight that made the hearts of employees and visitors alike beat a little bit faster. Celebrating its world debut in Frankfurt, the Audi Q5 Service Mobil is setting new standards in mobile service. Networked online with the Audi service systems, the Audi Q5 Service Mobil permits vehicle analysis and comprehensive diagnosis directly on-site.

As an additional highlight at its 1,000-square-meter stand, the brand with the four rings is presenting the innovative Audi Service Cam. Equipped with LED and laser technology, the camera facilitates visualization of damage even on sections of the vehicle that are difficult to access. Thanks to the pictures provided by this device, service advisors can discuss the scope of necessary repair with customers in detail, either directly at the vehicle itself or using a monitor in the customer zone.

Also debuting in Frankfurt this year is the Audi Quick Ammeter, winner of the Innovation Award 2008. For the first time, this device will enable Audi service employees to measure electrical currents in vehicles to the milliampere without having to break the circuit.

Audi’s Virtual Cockpit, an interactive PC program that customers can use on their home computers, also offers direct benefit to Audi owners. As the “owner’s manual of the future,” this program offers a realistic vehicle simulation that enables users to familiarize themselves with the cockpit functions in their Audi and virtually experience innovative features such as the driver assistance systems – before even making their first trip in the car.

A visit to the Audi stand is therefore a highly rewarding experience. In addition to the technological innovations, other attractive offers from AUDI AG are on display. Successful Audi A3 Cabriolet and Audi A4 Avant models with attractive equipment as well as an overview of current accessories such as the new Audi children’s seats are presented by Audi Genuine Accessories. The Audi R8, featuring the world’s first full-LED headlights available as a retrofit solution and a new engine compartment cover made of carbon sigma, is displayed by Audi Genuine Parts.

Those attending the press conference on Tuesday also had the opportunity to meet a VIP guest. Timo Scheider, a highly successful DTM pilot, has been sponsored by Audi Service for two years now. Scheider was very pleased by Audi’s invitation to attend Automechanika because he is convinced that “the key to coming top is top performance by the service team – both in the world of racing and on the road. And everyone at Audi does their best to achieve this,” emphasized the DTM champion.
