Company car drivers put romance to the test
Love is in the air for company car drivers according to a survey conducted by GM Fleet, the UK’s leading provider of company cars. GM’s latest research revealed that given the choice of drivers would use the GM Fleet three-day test drive of a vehicle from any one of the group’s marques for a romantic getaway. General Motors is the only vehicle manufacturer in the UK to offer such an extensive evaluation period for company car drivers and fleet operators.
Over half of the 8,500 on-line respondents who took part in the survey claimed that going on a break with their partner or spouse would be their preferred choice for putting the GM model through its paces. They chose this over going to visit family or having a weekend away with a group of friends. And it was the male drivers who outnumbered females in choosing the romantic option.
And the destination? Cornwall came top taking 34% of the votes, ahead of that of some of the other most scenic areas in the country, including the Western Isles of Scotland, and the Gower Peninsula in Wales.
Although a trip with a loved one ranked the highest, it would appear that company car drivers have neither lost their sense of adventure, with a photographic expedition, a golfing holiday, and exploring the family history, also featuring high up on their wish list of things to do during a long weekend.
