Czech record with the new Škoda Praktik
The Škoda Praktik “scored” as early as on the occasion of its domestic premiere. Thirty Czech and Slovak motoring journalists helped to set a new Czech record in the category of “giant structures made of paper boxes”. Using the freight compartments of fifteen new Škoda Praktik vehicles, the journalists brought altogether 540 carton boxes, size 30x40x30 cm. A triple garage model was then built from the boxes and three of the Škoda Praktik vehicles were parked there.
The new record was set in one of the hangars of the army airport in Prague - Kbely on Friday, March 30, 2007. Organised by Škoda Auto as part of media test drives with the new commercial vehicle, the event was registered by the Dobrý den agency in the Czech records databank as the largest structure made of carton boxes of that particular size brought onto the site in 15 small commercial vehicles.

The brand new two-seater Škoda Praktik follows up the tradition of the commercial vehicles that Škoda Auto used to manufacture on Forman, Felicia and Fabia Combi chassis (Vanplus, Pick-up and Praktik, respectively). Based on the Roomster line, the new vehicle offers all the benefits of a passenger car – excellent handling performance and comfort, roomy interior and ergonomically smart driver compartment solution. The key target groups for the Škoda Praktik are small traders, craftsmen and/or distribution and messenger services.

The new lightweight commercial vehicle Škoda Praktik offers a variable freight compartment (max. volume 1.9 m3, inside dimensions 1605mm x 1016 – 1434 mm x 990 mm) and a payload of 550 - 640 kg. It is available with two petrol engines (1.2 12V HTP/51 kW and 1.4 16V/63 kW) and one diesel engine (1.4 TDI PD/51 kW) with a five-speed manual transmission. The basic equipment level of the Škoda Praktik includes driver and passenger airbags, ABS including MSR and Dual Rate (mechanical brake assistant), power steering, height-and-length adjustable steering wheel, 14-inch wheels and freight compartment lighting.
