The personalised number plate, CEO 1, has sold for £154,100 on eBayMotors.co.uk today, the highest price ever paid for a number plate on the site. The much sought after number plate started a bidding war on eBayMotors.co.uk soon after seller Derek Clements posted the plate on 2nd July and received almost 100 bids. The number plate has an impressive pedigree and was on an Aston Martin DB6.


Sales of personalised number plates are growing 23% year-on-year on eBayMotors.co.uk, with buyers following a trend set by several well-known celebrities including Sir Alan Sugar (AMS 1), Nicky Clarke (H4I RDO), Robbie Williams (S8 RRY), Engelbert Humperdinck (EH 1), Vinny Jones (100 VJ) and Paul Daniels (MAG 1C).
