Fiat’s London flagship site has been chosen as the venue for a top international art exhibition. The site, Wigmore Street-based Fiat Marylebone, was designed with art and fashion shows in mind as well as the ability to display cars, and has proved the perfect venue for this latest press preview and VIP reception of the Stop, Breathe, Respect exhibition from Italian artist Fabio Pietrantonio.

Around 100 guests enjoyed a champagne reception while viewing Pietrantonio’s work, including Natural Love, a hanging sculpture decorated with 10,000 hand dried rose petals. The exhibition was spread across the flagship’s two floors, which have been transformed into a minimalist white art gallery for the occasion.

The event was attended by Andrew Humberstone, managing director, Fiat Group Automobiles UK who met Pietrantonio for a personal introduction to the Turin-born artist’s work. Pietrantonio has exhibited across the world, but this is his first display in the UK.

Stop, Breathe, Respect is portrayed through a series of mediums – including paintings, sculptures, wall hangings and etchings. For this exhibition, the artist poses the question: “What is respect?” and invites his audience to stop, breathe deeply and offer an answer. The display runs until 25 October.

“The flagship has already held a number of shows and receptions, but the preview night of Fabio’s work was among the best we’ve had,” says Tony Dittli, managing director, Fiat Marylebone.

“The store’s layout is ideal for events such as art exhibitions, and the site itself is well placed in the centre of London. We are delighted that we are able to get such use from it.”
