New Ford models were on display at the cultural festival "Anansekrom" at the Orsett Showground in Grays, Essex, this month.

The Anansekrom cultural extravaganza promoted African heritage and its traditions through a variety of activities, such as traditional drumming and dancing, live music and Ghanaian games.

Ford's participation was organised by employees from the Ford African Ancestry Network. FAAN is just one example of Ford's active encouragement of cultural diversity. Other Ford resource groups include Ford Chinese Association (FCA) and Ford Interfaith Network (FIN).

Two popular cars, the Fiesta and the Kuga, were presented at Anansekrom. Over 350 people requested test drives for the two vehicles and over 1000 potential customers requested more information. As part of its support, Ford provided a raffle prize of two weeks exclusive use of the new Ford Kuga.

Ford employee George Ameyaw, also in charge of FAAN membership, presented the Kuga prize to Magnus Duke Dadzie, from Barking. George said: "Our customers are as diverse as our product range, and events such as Anansekrom are a great opportunity to reflect that diversity." Magnus was pleased to have won, saying: "The Kuga is my dream car and I look forward to these next two weeks of driving."

Leslie Ampofo for Anansekrom organisers Noble Friends, said: "I wish to show my appreciation to Ford for donating the first prize for the raffle, and also for supporting such an important event."
