The 500,000th new Opel Corsa will be registered in December 2007. Since its sales start around 14 months ago, the model has been successfully positioned throughout Europe and continues to lead large markets such as Germany and the United Kingdom. Opel was able to increase Corsa registrations across Europe in the first 11 months of 2007 by around 50 percent compared to the same last-year period. This puts Opel’s successful model far ahead of other German competitors in the segment, who all had at least 45,000 fewer vehicle registrations than the Corsa.
At the IAA 2007, Opel presented the Corsa 1.3 CDTI ecoFLEX – the first vehicle in the new environmentally friendly ecoFLEX range. The Corsa ecoFLEX emits just 119 g CO2/km with an average fuel consumption of only 4.5 liters of diesel per 100 km.
Since its launch, the newest Corsa has received over 20 awards from automotive journalists and readers’ polls across Europe. The awards include “Car of the Year” in Czech republic, Denmark, Belgium, the United Kingdom, Ireland, Croatia, Romania, Serbia and Slovenia, as well as the “Autobest 2007” trophy in Eastern and Central Europe.
