The all-new Accord makes its debut at the Geneva International Motor Show next month. One of the first cars to be unveiled – at 08.30 on Tuesday 4 March – the European Accord will be shown in both Saloon and Tourer body styles. It will be joined by the FCX Clarity, Honda’s ground-breaking hydrogen fuel cell car – featuring for the first time ever on European soil. The CR-Z hybrid sports car concept also makes its debut on this side of the world after its reveal in October last year.
Also on display will be the Accord’s new range of engines, with revised 2.0 and 2.4-litre petrol powerplants and the all-new 2.2-litre i-DTEC diesel. All engines in the Accord range will comply with the forthcoming Euro 5 emissions standards.
FCX CLARITY
Headlining the environment area is the FCX Clarity, a 4-seat saloon fuel cell vehicle with zero harmful emissions. Available to lease in the US this summer at $600 per month, the FCX Clarity is the world’s first production hydrogen fuel cell car – a road-going, practical saloon with next generation technology that works effectively in the real-world. The FCX Clarity will also launch in Japan in the autumn.
CR-Z CONCEPT
The CR-Z concept design study is the basis of a forthcoming hybrid sports car. With stunning styling coupled to low-emissions hybrid technology, the CR-Z promises an exciting driving experience while minimising environmental impact.
RA108 FORMULA ONE CAR
Visitors to the stand’s competition zone will be treated to the first public viewing of the 2008 Honda RA108 F1 car. Joining the RA108 in the competition zone, will be the Honda Civic Type R R3, which is designed to meet the new FIA Group R3 rally regulations. The eagerly awaited R3 is now available to rally drivers, after a year of intensive and successful testing and competition.
The Honda Geneva press conference is scheduled for 8:30am (CET) on Tuesday 4 March, during which the all-new Accord will be unveiled.
