iPod connection in Audi cars
The Audi Q7, A8 and A6 models can now be equipped with an iPod connection. The Audi music interface consists of a storage compartment for the iPod and the accompanying control unit, both of which are integrated in the glove compartment (A8 and A6) or in the rear centre armrest (Q7). Occupants of the car can enjoy listening to the music files which are output via the car’s audio system. The iPod can be conveniently operated via the MMI system and the multifunction steering wheel.
The player can be fully operated via the MMI. Artist, track and album are displayed on the MMI monitor and can be selected via the control and function keys. In Germany, the Audi music interface is available at a price of 240 euros. The system will be available as a retrofit option from the beginning of 2007.

MP3 and WMA files can also be played in the Audi Q7, A8 and A6 via the optionally available CD changer. Thanks to the low memory space required for MP3-format files the driver can practically take his entire music collection with him in his car.

An iPod preparation integrated into the glove box is also available for the A3, A4 and TT model lines. This feature is operated via the radio or navigation system. CDs with MP3 music files can also be played in these models if the car is equipped with a concert or symphony audio system or, alternatively, if one of the two available navigation systems is installed.
