Le Mans-winning DBR9 set to wow British crowds at Goodwood
The Aston Martin Racing and InterContinental Hotels & Resorts DBR9 which triumphed at the Le Mans 24-hour endurance race, held last weekend, is set to appear before British fans at the Goodwood Festival of Speed over June 23-24.
The winning Aston Martin Racing DBR9 – numbered 009 – was driven to GT1 class victory and a remarkable fifth overall by David Brabham, Rickard Rydell and Darren Turner after 24 hours of non-stop competition, characterised by changeable conditions and several safety car periods.

On Sunday, after a gruelling 24-hours, Brabham expertly guided the DBR9 over the finishing line in torrential rain to take the chequered flag and in doing so, secured Aston Martin’s first triumph at Le Mans since 1959. Brabham will now drive the DBR9 at the Goodwood Festival, up the famous hill route, in front of an anticipated record number of spectators.

Aston Martin’s Head of Product Communications & Motorsport, David King, said: “Victory at Le Mans marked a truly historic day for everyone involved with Aston Martin and the win proved the culmination of a great deal of hard work from the Aston Martin Racing team and our partners.

“We’re delighted that the car is able to appear at the Goodwood Festival and it seems fitting that we celebrate our long-awaited win in front of our British fans.”
