The Range Rover Sport has once again proved its versatility by winning the AXA ‘Leisure Car’ category of the 2006/2007 AXA Car of the Year awards in Northern Ireland. The title was awarded to the Range Rover Sport by the Ulster Motoring Writers Association (UMWA).

Chairman of the Ulster Motoring Writers Association, Jim McCauley, said: “Of all the vehicles judged in this competition, the Range Rover Sport scored consistently high amongst members. As well as its outstanding on-and-off-road capability, it offers a quality driving environment that has few equals. It is an outstanding testament to the UK motor industry.”

Land Rover’s UK managing director John Edwards added: “The Range Rover Sport had a record sales year in the UK in 2006 and winning this award is a fantastic way to cap it off. This remarkable achievement proves the strong appeal of the vehicle and its true breadth of capability.”
