Rendering - 2012 VW Passat
The VW Passat looks outdated after the entry of the refreshed BMW 3-Series and the Mercedes C-Class. If VW has to regain the top position in this segment, it needs to fix a car that is visually more powerful and with the next model, they are trying to do just that.
The Passat shares fundamentals with cousin Superb which rolls out of Skoda's production line, and the future models might stay that way. Interesting list of features of the 2012 VW Passat, that enters markets in 2011 includes handy technology like Airless tires, wiperless cleaning system and an advanced ESP among many.

The styling cues will be adopted from the Scirocco concept which is the design bible for the VW cars that follow immediately. The new Golf and Polo use a few lines and exterior items from the concept already.
