In case you were wondering what would be the next model to join the low-cost Dacia Logan and Sandero in Dacia's/Renault's product range, here you have it: the Romanian automaker

Dacia unveiled the so-called Sandero Stepway during two simultaneous events at the Barcelona Motor Show and at the L'Atelier Renault showroom in Paris. In case you missed the car's launch or its specification, we have made a compilation of the best features for your convenience.

It this what they made from the Duster Concept? you might ask. Well, actually it is not, because Dacia Sandero Stepway is the European version of Renault Sandero Stepway, a model sold in Brazil and manufactured by Renault's Curitiba facility. The French manufacturer says the two models, Dacia's and Renault's, share approximately 80 percent of the parts, including the roofbars and the front and rear bumpers.

Getting back to Dacia's Sandero Stepway, the new model is expected to arrive in European dealerships in September 2009, with order books due to open in July 2009.

It will be offered in two engine configurations, depending on the market: a 1.6-liter petrol unit developing 90 horsepower and a dCI 70 diesel powerplant. To give you an idea, the Stepway is capable of achieving a fuel consumption rating of 7.6 l/100 km (30.9 mpg) for the gasoline and 5.3 l/100 km (44.3 mpg) for the diesel.

The car is based on the Ambiance version and will be offered in a choice of three metallic paints available as standard: Mercury Grey, Comète Grey and Ruby Red. Standard features include Bosch 8.1 ABS with electronic brakeforce distribution (EBD) and emergency brake assist (EBA) as well as

driver and front passenger airbags, chrome exterior mirrors, chrome grille trim, 16-inch aluminum alloy wheels, chrome exhaust tailpipe and black headlamp masks.

All models will benefit from a three-year or 100,000 km warranty, similar to all the other models across the Dacia range.
