Spied - 2010 Hyundai Sonata YF/i40
The 2010 Hyundai i40, commercially known as the Sonata, has been spied yet again. The car was pre-production model which was parked in some place in South Korea.
The up-close taken spy shots fail to give us the complete picture of the exterior, but confirmed is a revolutionary styling far different to the existing model. It promises to be more exciting and some aspects take it closer to the Mercedes Benz CLS's design language.

With less than six months to the official Sonata / i40 unveiling, things are heating up. Forums and blogs have given the spotlight to this car calling it the most thrilling Hyundai yet. The Sonata is goes on sale in South Korea by the end of September 2009, while US sales begin in February 2010.

No word on the engines from Hyundai, but we assume that the engine line-up will comprise of highly advanced gasoline and diesel engines. A 2.4L Theta II engine and a 3.3 Lambda V6 form the gasoline line up and promise to transfer enough power to the wheels, and not being too harsh on your fuel expenditure.

A pair of all-new, EURO5 compliant, R-diesel engines- the 2.2L diesel engine which provides 145 kW of power and 436 Nm of maximum torque and the 2.0L unit delivers 135 kW and 392 Nm puts the Sonata right up with the competitors BMW, Toyota, Honda and Volkswagen.

Reports in the media mention of a wagon variant for Europe. This model should make the cut six months from the time of the sedan launch.
