We’re not certain what BMW is trying by releasing this photograph. They had previously set free a bunch of official spy photos and teasers, but the latest of the lot is leaving many scratching their heads.

BMW's smallest crossover looks out of place in that beach. Add to that the beach blonde, she puts the X1 on another planet by taking it out of focus.

The BMW X1 CUV goes on sale with four-wheel drive followed by a rear-wheel drive model. The basic engine is expected to be a 2.0 Liter four cylinder creating 177 hp. BMW will additionally manufacture diesel powered variants as well. When the X1 does hit showrooms, it will be contesting directly against vehicles like the Mercedes Benz GLK.
