Four new movie stars – “BUMBLEBEE™,” “AUTOBOT JAZZ™,” “AUTOBOT RATCHET™” and “IRONHIDE™” will make their debut in European movie cinemas on June 28 in Italy in the action-adventure called “TRANSFORMERS™” from Paramount Pictures and DreamWorks Pictures, in association with Hasbro. “BUMBLEBEE™”, one of the central characters in the saga of aliens who take mechanical forms when on Earth, changes from the classic 1976 Chevrolet Camaro. “AUTOBOT JAZZ™” converts from a Pontiac Solstice in a hardtop format. A Hummer H2, modified as a rescue vehicle, changes into “AUTOBOT RATCHET™,” and “IRONHIDE™” changes from a GMC medium-duty truck.

“The first time I saw the new Camaro, while touring the GM Design Center, I knew immediately that it would be the perfect ‘BUMBLEBEE™’,” said Michael Bay, the film’s Director. He continued, “It’s got beautiful lines and a classic, timeless look. There were no other cars that came even close.”

Chevrolet Europe will roll out a fully integrated marketing and promotional effort around the release of the movie. Activities in Europe include seven Chevrolet Camaro replica models of the character ‘BUMBLEBEE™’, which will be featured at motor shows, dealerships and other marketing activities throughout the year.

“’TRANSFORMERS™’ is a compelling project and offers us a platform for marketing GM products and building awareness, especially for the Chevrolet brand in Europe,” said Wayne Brannon, Executive Director Chevrolet Europe. “We will introduce the new Chevrolet Camaro as a fast follower to the launch in North America, which is planned for 2009”, continued Brannon.
