World’s best GTs line up in Avon Tyres British GT series

Aston Martin DBRS9, Lamborghini Gallardo, Jaguar’s new XKR, Ferrari 430, Porsche GT3RS, Ascari KZ1R and the iconic Dodge Viper are among the mouth-watering line-up of GT machinery that will grace this year’s Avon Tyres British GT Championship. And, of course, these dream machines will be shod with Avon motorsport tyres.

Avon Tyres Motorsport, the racing division of Cooper Tire & Rubber Company Europe Ltd, won the contract to supply control tires to this prestigious series for the 2006 to 2008 race seasons.

The UK’s premier national sportscar racing series rumbles into action at Oulton Park, Cheshire, on Easter weekend, April 7-9.

Championship organisers changed the rules for this year, making the burgeoning GT3 class the top category. With overall title glory now open to any GT3 team, a host of hot new marques and models have flooded into the already-packed entry list, hence the incredibly eclectic mix of exotica that the series can boast in 2007.

Tickets to see a raft of the world’s most beautiful and desirable cars battle it out in some of the most exciting, paint-swapping action around, can be bought on the gate for £10 on Saturday, April 7, and £20 on Monday, April 9.
