KiaKia’s best seller is about to get bigger and better. Only millimetres bigger but miles better in every way, the face-lifted Picanto is set for a world debut at the Barcelona show on June 7. Kia’s design teams have updated Picanto to exude glamour while still maintaining its cheeky charm. A rounder nose and deeper rear bumper make the new model 40mm longer than its predecessor. Further changes in Picanto’s looks are a result of all-new panels on the bonnet, front wings and front and rear bumpers. This new ‘rounded’ theme is also reflected in the light clusters and newly designed grille which will be gradually introduced across the Kia range. Fresh new colours and a restyled rounded exterior create a more intimate feel which continues on the interior as well.

KiaKia Motors Corporation is, in conjunction with Hyundai Motor Corporation, continuing its support of all things football by becoming the official global sponsor of the upcoming UEFA European Football Championship™, or ‘UEFA EURO 2008™’ – the largest football event in Europe. Kia has extended its support of the most popular sport in the world with this deal – adding to partnerships it has already formed with FIFA and the Chinese national football team. The EURO 2008 agreement – announced in a ceremony at Kia’s €1 billion Zilina plant in Slovakia this week – will see Hyundai-Kia become the official supplier of vehicles for the Championship.

KiaKia Motors Corporation hosted an opening ceremony at its Zilina plant in Slovakia this week to mark the official opening of Kia’s first ever European factory. The official opening was scheduled on the third anniversary of the ground-breaking event which began the transformation of Kia’s 166 hectare site into one of Europe’s most advanced and productive plants. Kia and the local Government held the ceremony to formally recognise the contribution that this facility has made to the region since production started last year. Not only has the factory created in excess of 10,000 new jobs in the area but can also boast being one of the most environmentally safe factories in Europe.

Aimed at second year students, the goal is to promote home grown design talent in the many areas of design throughout the car industry. Entrants were supplied with a wide ranging theme for the basis of their work looking for innovative approaches to the challenges of the automotive industry through creative art, design, media and communication.

KiaKia’s exciting all-new ex_cee’d cabrio concept car will be premiered at the 77th Salon de l’Automobiles in Geneva, Switzerland on 6 March. The styling of the eagerly anticipated ex_cee’d cabrio is the work of Peter Schreyer, Kia’s new Chief Design Officer, and hints at the future direction Kia vehicles could be taking under his guidance. Based on the new three-door cee’d hatchback, due to go into production at the Zilina factory in Slovakia from December, the ex_cee’d shares the same platform, but features all-new exterior panels and a powered folding fabric roof.

www.kia.com, was awarded as the highest ranked automobile manufacturer web site in the recently released J.D. Power and Associates 2007 Manufacturer Web Site Evaluation Study -- Wave 1 (MWES (SM)). Kia rated highest overall among manufacturer Web sites in terms of usability, comprising speed, navigation, appearance and information/content. The top ranking marks the third time Kia has had the highest ranked web site in the MWES(SM). Kia.com was previously ranked highest in 2005 (Wave 2) and with this most recent award it becomes the first manufacturer web site to finish in the top spot three separate times. All three award recognized sites were prepared by Animated Designs, LLC., Kia's interactive agency based in Westlake Village, Calif.
