Suzuki Splash Making its World Debut at the 62nd Frankfurt Motor Show
The Suzuki Splash is making its world debut at the 62nd International Motor Show (IAA) in Frankfurt, Germany (open to the public from 13 to 23 September 2007). The Splash is the production model of the Project Splash concept car that earned acclaim at the 2006 Paris Mondiale de L'Automobile, and it is Suzuki's fourth world strategic car (following the Swift, Grand Vitara, and SX4). Although it is a sister car to the new Opel Agila, it was developed in Japan by Suzuki and will be produced in Hungary by Magyar Suzuki.

The first is the all-new compact car, the Splash, the company’s fourth all-new, world strategic model within three years. Like the Swift, Grand Vitara and SX4, Splash incorporates strong European design and styling themes which continue to lead Suzuki’s worldwide new product development strategy.

Suzuki’s SX4 World Rally Car performs strongly in tarmac tests
Suzuki held tarmac tests for the SX4 WRC in June in southern Europe. The European tests started in April, but these were the first fully fledged tarmac tests. The SX4 WRC brought in for testing was evolved further from the earlier prototype design; in fact, its specifications are already close to what is planned to be fielded in this season’s WRC test entries. Throughout five days of driving tests, the team confirmed the performance and reliability of the much improved car. Then in the course of a further five days they worked on refining the basic settings of each component to investigate further performance upgrades.

Strong ride at Whitby for Dougan
Fork Rent Suzuki’s Jason Dougan enjoyed a day of top-ten results yesterday as the Maxxis British Motocross Championship went to Whitby in Yorkshire. Following a 12th place in timed practice, Jason went into race one in optimistic form, making up for an average start by charging through the field early-on. Moving up to fifth place by the end of lap-one, Jason went into a race-long battle with Carl Nunn, eventually taking his Fork Rent RM-Z250 to a well-earned fourth place.

The Cinecittà Film Studio’s in Rome played host to some unconventional stars last night, as Suzuki unveiled a selection of new two-wheel products to the assembled European press. A legend even before its launch, Suzuki was pleased to announce the final specification of the soon to be launched B-King muscle bike. Offering looks true to the original concept machine, the hotly anticipated specification was finally announced. Equipped with a 1340cc engine, the B-King will pack an impressive power output aimed squarely at making it one of the most powerful naked motorcycles available.

European top-ten for relentless Suzuki
The Team Relentless Suzuki squad enjoyed solid results at the Spanish round of the European MX2 Championship at the weekend, held at Alhama de Murcia, with Lewis Gregory taking a fifth place finish and team-mate Alex Snow in ninth. Following a difficult round in France a few weeks earlier, where poor conditions hampered a back-to-back win for Gregory, Spain saw blistering heat in qualifying with Lewis finishing in 11th and Alex in 23rd.
