24-hour production launched at Nissan’s Sunderland plant
At 8.45pm on Sunday June 29th 2008, Nissan will launch a night shift at its plant in Sunderland, marking the start of ‘round-the-clock’ production. The third shift has created 800 new jobs at the plant and has been implemented in response to continuing excellent customer demand for the award-winning Qashqai crossover.

issan Motor Co., Ltd will publish its 2008 Sustainability Report on 25 June, after the conclusion of its 109th Ordinary General Meeting of Shareholders. The fifth-edition of the report offers an update of Nissan's Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives within the scope of nine key focus areas identified by the company. The report includes the Nissan CSR Scorecard which tracks the progress made on annual CSR objectives. It also outlines the achievements during fiscal year 2007 and defines new targets for 2008 as part of a roadmap for continued CSR development.
