This year's World Rally Championship draws to a close with the Wales Rally GB taking place in the Welsh forests. Britain in early December always presents a spectacular challenge, particularly as the route of the all-gravel event has been significantly modified for this year. For the first time since 2001, competitors will visit the classic stages of mid-Wales such as Sweet Lamb and Myherin on the opening day of the rally, with a remote service in the market town of Builth Wells.

Silverstone Grand Prix circuit has been confirmed as the venue for the UK round of the 2009 World Series by Renault, the free motorsport festival that combines on-track racing and Formula One demonstrations with off-track family activities. The Northamptonshire circuit plays host to World Series by Renault on 4th/5th July, 2009, just two weeks after the British Grand Prix.

Audi is set to present a world premiere at the Essen Motor Show from November 28 to December 7: the brand with the four rings will be unveiling a race version of the Audi R8 with over 500 horsepower. During the press conference on November 28, Audi will also be presenting its plans for the 2009 motorsport season. This year’s winning Le Mans car and Timo Scheider’s victorious DTM car will be lining up in Essen alongside numerous attractive production models.
