Three new cars being unveiled by Hyundai at the Frankfurt show next week will demonstrate the company's commitment to making vehicles which are both stylish and environmentally responsible. First of the trio to be revealed at the show, which opens to the public on 13 September, will be the i-Blue Fuel Cell Electric Vehicle. i-Blue will be joined by the Veloster, a stunning coupe concept, and the production version of the hugely practical i30 estate.

It’s all go for Škoda at this year’s Frankfurt Auto Show. The Czech manufacturer will be showcasing an all-new model, a design study and a concept car on its Hall 3 stand. Breaking cover for the first time will be the new Škoda Fabia Estate, with its impressive 1,460-litre loading area (seats folded). Over 630,000 examples of the previous generation model were sold worldwide, and with the choice of six engines and a typically affordable price tag, the new model will doubtless be similarly popular.

Just a few months following the market debut of the saloon, Mercedes-Benz is now unveilling the estate version of the new C-Class. The estate takes the trademark strengths of the saloon, such as safety, agility and comfort, and combines them with a significant increase in spaciousness and versatility. Quite apart from being able to hold a maximum of 1500 litres, giving it a larger load capacity than any other premium-class estate in this market segment, the new C-Class Estate also offers a host of handy features for easy loading and safe transportation -a tailgate which opens and closes automatically at the push of a button, for example. Compared to the outgoing model, the new Mercedes estate burns as much as twelve per cent less fuel. With an official NEDC consumption of 6.0 litres/100 km, the new C 200 CDI can make a single tank of fuel (66 litres) last for over 1000 kilometres.
Frankfurt Motor Show will see the international launch of the new Peugeot 308 hatchback and also the first glimpses of another member of the 308 family, in the shape of the 308 SW Prologue concept car. With the SW concept which first appeared in 2002 with the launch of the 307 SW, Peugeot created a new motoring concept which has since become available in other models in the range. Today the “SW” is synonymous with a true life style car. The abbreviation also symbolises practicality and versatility, allowing the particular car to adapt to its user’s many wishes.

Škoda is set to unveil the new Fabia Estate at September’s International Motor Show (IAA) in Frankfurt. The latest edition to the Czech firm’s line-up is larger in every respect than its predecessor. Škoda’s new load-lugger is 7mm longer and 46mm higher than the model it replaces. Its enhanced dimensions (4,239mm long, 1,642mm wide and 1,498mm tall) not only give the car a more imposing road stance, but also allow for a far larger interior.

Today marks the official launch date of the third generation Golf Estate. Customers, who have been ordering the car since the start of June this year, will now be able to drive their new cars away from Volkswagen Retailers across the UK. This latest generation of Golf Estate brings versatility and load-carrying ability to the Golf range. Loadspace is 505 litres with the seats in place, rising to a maximum of 1,550 litres when the rear seats are folded flat into the boot floor. A wide tailgate and low loading lip boost practicality while a chrome grille section – similar to the ‘face’ on the Eos – gives the new car an imposing and stylish appearance.
The star of the Cadillac stand at the 2007 Frankfurt Motor Show will undoubtedly be the brand-new Cadillac BLS Wagon. But the news from General Motors won’t end there. The all-new Cadillac CTS, Cadillac BLS Flexpower and more-powerful Corvette C6 Coupe and Convertible will also be available for show-goers to see. Fans of the blockbuster movie “Transformers™,” can also get a closer look at the Hummer Autobot Ratchet vehicle at IAA.
