The Ford S-max has marketablity in the United States. With designing, engineering, and development done, all there would be is the cost of extra tooling to make the car in North America. It has all the appeal of a Honda or Toyota. Ford has the product portfolio, but segregates it`s products into global regions. How do they know how well a product model will do until you try to sell it elsewhere? They talked about a global car when they produced one in the past. There product line in the U.S. is too narrow. The S-MAX can be called up quickly to fill the void. I thought at first a name change would be appropriate, but the more I about it, S-MAX would be just fine on this side of the ocean. So it`s time for Ford to think about the S-MAX, that it has tucked in it`s back pocket. It`s time to move this model into the American market.

I like, really like the S-MAX. Ford should bring it to the North American market ASAP. I would love to replace my pudgy Toyota Sienna with something a little smaller and sportier. My wife an I own a mini-van because we have to not because we want to and if the S-MAX makes the minivan cooler and hipper, then Ford should capitalize on that regardless of the market. The one downside of the S-MAX is that it has rear swinging doors. I really like the sliding doors on our Sienna. Other than that the S-MAX appears to be superior to the Sienna in every way for me.
