I have a 996 2002 Targa. I have had problems with the roof opening and closing properley which I beleive to be a design fault due to weight. Porsche would not accept this and wanted around 4k for a complete roof cartridge (saying parts not available separately)and up to 20 hrs labour at £100/HR!I was planning to pretend I had a carrera when I was directed to Tower Porsche who just changed the 2 motors and cables plus labour with a more palatable bill of £1700..... Guess where I am going for my next service? Sod the Porsche Stamp!Note funny that the 997 Targa roof is somewhat lighter!!
