Volkswagen remains ‘digitally open’ in England during the second lockdown across the country, with retailers following carefully government guidance to offer virtual appointments, video vehicle walk-arounds and a click and collect service. Retailer workshops remain open, ensuring everyone is able to stay on the road during this challenging period. Showrooms in Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland are open.

Although they are unable to visit English showrooms in person, customers can still digitally browse a wealth of new models, across numerous key segments and with a variety of powertrains on offer.

The Tiguan, renewed for late 2020 with a fresh, premium look and the latest connectivity, driver assistance and infotainment technology, now has a raft of engines with Active Cylinder Technology – allowing the motor to run on two cylinders under certain load conditions to both reduce emissions and increase fuel economy. In addition, twin-dosing technology reduces NOX emissions by up to 80% compared with the equivalent previous TDI engines.

The enhanced Arteon and new Arteon Shooting Brake also benefit from this latest technology. In addition, ultra-low emissions eHybrid variants of both models, as well as high-performance, 320 PS R models, will also be released in the coming months.

The series ID.3 range opened for order in October, four years after the original I.D. concept was showcased at the Paris Motor Show. The production car stays true to the roots of the concept, delivering long ranges, technological innovations, intelligent connectivity and an engaging drive. Not only this, but the ID.3 is net carbon-neutral to the point of delivery to the customer, as independently certified by TÜV Nord.

The brand’s top-selling model in the UK, the Golf, launched earlier in 2020. It has now been joined by the performance models – GTI, GTD, GTE and R. The trio of GT models are open for order now, each fulfilling a subtly different take on the hot hatch concept. The flagship R model will open for order in the next few weeks.

Not only are there new Golf models to consider, but the brand is offering generous deposit contributions on the Golf, as well as the Touareg. For example, the Golf is available with 5.4% APR representative, with a deposit contribution of £1,250. The Touareg is also available with the same 5.4% APR representative offer, with a deposit contribution of £8,000. Customers should visit for more information.

Those in the market for a used vehicle are also catered for, with the Volkswagen Approved Used programme now benefitting from an enhanced package of incentives. The industry-leading package now includes two years’ warranty cover, two years’ MOT, and two years’ roadside assistance with every sale under the programme, with two years of free servicing added for any Approved Used vehicle purchased using a Volkswagen Financial Services (VWFS) Solutions Personal Contract Plan.

In addition to the measures and systems already in place, Volkswagen has guaranteed that it will not pass on any post-Brexit tariffs for all orders placed before 17.30 on 2 December 2020, giving buyers confidence and offering certainty in uncertain times.
